Well things were exciting around here yesterday. Amazon changed their review policies so authors can’t give free books in exchange for reviews! Amazon’s NEW Review Guidelines (10/3/16) state:
Book authors and publishers may continue to provide free or discounted copies of their books to readers, as long as the author or publisher does not require a review in exchange or attempt to influence the review.
That means authors can still give away free copies in the HOPES of getting reviews, but you can’t give away free copies “in exchange for review.”
You can swing by and peruse our free books any time! If you review a book you received for free, be sure to add: “I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review” to your review – That’s an Amazon and FCC law.
The authors themselves will provide you with the free books, so you get to say hi to them, too!
