Busy Busy Busy Bee. Yesterday was over before I even knew what hit me and I kept thinking, I’ll blog in a few minutes. But I never did it. Gah… FAIL.
This happens… what can I say?
This week the wine I tried was a Cabernet Sauvignon made by Cleavage Creek. They donate a percentage of their proceeds to breast cancer research.
I saw this wine and instantly loved the name… and that the label was covered in pink. Then once I knew about their attempts to cure breast cancer I knew I was buying the wine… no matter what kind it was.
It’s grapes are from Napa, which makes me kinda feel like it’s a local winery. It had cherry, raspberry and berry flavors with a little hint of vanilla. I could really taste the vanilla.
On the label it says “this is a celebrating life wine!” I like that!!!
For dinner last-last night I made chili shrimps in a coconutty (fake) risotto.
It was good but I definitely plan to make it again and make it a little better… so no recipe yet.
Breakfast yesterday:
Left me crazy full so this was lunch:
I did a quick little workout on my lunch break that included:
- lunges
- squats
- mt. climbers
- burpees
- oblique crunches
- leg lift crunches
- double crunches
- scissor crunches
- and planks
- Then I did upper body weights with 5 pounds
Max and I did a date that included shopping for running shoes, mojitos, ahi tuna and seeing the new batman movie.
I figured I really need new running shoes especially since I’m now registered for 2 1/2 marathons in the fall. So we went to Treadmill, a local running store in Carmel.
They really know their stuff there. You are not allowed to pick your shoes by how they look.
I’ve never been fit for running shoes before based on how my foot is. So I learned that
- I have flat feet so I should want motion control shoes like the Mizuno Alchemy.
- but I’m weird and really like support shoes like the Mizuno Wave Inspire. Which is totally wrong and the expert sort of freaked out when that’s the kind of shoe I wanted.
- I like my shoes to be tight, which is bad. I’ve been buying 9’s but the woman would have put me in a 10… we compromised on a 9.5
- 9.5 is a very popular shoe size because they were out and I was stuck trying on 9’s but mostly 10’s because the woman wouldn’t put the 9’s on me because they are “TOO SMALL!!!”
- They are ordering the Inspires in a 9.5 so I can go try them on in a week.
I felt really weird at first because I felt like everything I was wearing was wrong. But she told me the important thing is to buy what’s comfortable. It’s possible that my flat feet (That are shaped very strangely) are actually really strong and don’t like the added control.
So… long story short I’m going back in a week. Maybe I’ll do a whole picture included post on it. That might be pretty fun.
We ate at the Lala Grille, which is a fun little lounge type place right across the street from the theater. Perfect place for pre-movie drinks and dinner.
I gotta get my ahi.
Max had a huge salad too.
I gave Max all my bread.
Breakfast this morning was very uneventful since I got in late and was late to work.
They can’t all be culinary masterpieces, right? At least you know with Starbucks it’ll be good.
