AN open letter to my body: You might wobble when I’ve been stuffing you with food but my God do I love you, baby!

Hips, when you appeared out of the blue one summer my bottom lip stuck out in dismay but now I love nothing more than wrapping you in a pencil skirt and pretending I’m Dita von Teese.

And ribs, while yes you may stick out like a sore thumb stopping me from wearing those silly crop tops that are all the rage and ‘fashionable’ right now, I wouldn’t change you for the world. At least if I ever break one of you I know I’ll have plenty more to spare!

Thighs, the two of you are such close friends I couldn’t bare to keep you apart. If we ever meet Beyonce I’ll introduce you to her honed goddess-like legs, I promise. I know you pair will never be sticks and I’m glad, you make an excellent place to balance my food tray!

To the funbags on my chest: Girls, I appreciate all that you do for me. I’m truly humbled by your ability to squish down into tiny outfits and then rise up and greet me when I’m feeling like a day fit for some full cleavage. Babies, I promise one day when I’m old and grey I’ll set you free from boob jail but until then keep doing what you’re doing, you perky little beauties you.

To my bones, I’m so bloody glad you’ve stayed strong this long. With not a single broken bone – touch wood! – in your 21 years, I could kiss each and every one of you from head to toe. To my achey joints: c’mon now, we’re not even in our mid-twenties yet, don’t quit on me just yet. I promise I’ll give you all the cod liver oil you need when we’re no longer a spring chicken.

Legs, I know I’ve called you stumpy in the past but you have my sincerest thanks for letting me walk under low door frames without sustaining a head injury and meaning I’ve always been great at the limbo. You sure know how to bust a move when you want to too!

To the junk in my trunk: Baby got back! You’ve received many compliments over the years and continue to cushion my fall. You might not resemble Kylie’s buns but you and I are shaking what Mumma gave us.

Body, I’d just like to thank you for all the hard work you’ve done over the last two decades. You’re a right little curvy trooper!

Sincerely,your carb-loving owner,

Sophie x
