O’Neill Sign Bubbly New Snowboarder

Top snow-wear brand O’Neill have signed up star snowboarder Iris “Lazz” Lazzareschi to their award-winning athlete team. Lazz, 25, is from Lake Tahoe in California and is famed for her fantastic riding style and infectious and bubbly  personality. She has been a boarder for 13 years and began competing when she was 17 in Slopestyle events and rail jams.

But it is backcountry boarding and freeriding that has seen her gain the most fame in recent years. She has competed in big mountain snowboarding events at The North Face Masters, Freeride World Tour and King of the Hill, while regularly filming videos and photos around the world.

Among her career highlights are first-place finishes at the North Face Masters at Kirkwood (CA) and Crystal Mountain (WA) last year, as well as second places at King of the Hill and World Heli Challenge.

And Lazz is clearly delighted to have been picked up by O’Neill. Recently, she said: “It has always been a dream to join an established team like O’Neill, so I’m really excited. I’m honoured to be part of such a progressive company, and I’ve loved riding with my teammates so far. We’re all fired up for the season ahead and it’s nice that everyone supports one another to do well.”

Lazz, who will be training near her home in Tahoe and around north-west America to start the season, will now be seen riding in O’Neill jackets, pants, fleece and beanies, and she will feature the logo on her board and helmet.

O’Neill Snow’s Juliet Korver said: “O’Neill is always on the lookout for the most exciting athletes who push their abilities and try new things for the sport. Iris has a passion for snowboarding and her personality connects with the O’Neill lifestyle perfectly. She’s always the first one on the mountain, and last off, with a smile on her face the whole time.”

Lazz joins other Team O’Neill athletes, including fellow female snowboarder Celia Miller, Winter X star Seb Toots and back country legend Jeremy Jones.
