NYX Long Pencil Lip Plush Red Review, Swatches and LOTD

Finally I’m doing a post on my blog, managed to take out some time from my busy schedule of boring exams

Really Angry
and decided to write a post on some lip product as I haven’t done any on my blog since the beginning. I’m not much into liners but for blogging I’m going for all such things which I don’t even like much. So today I would be reviewing NYX Long lip pencil plush red which is really a long lip liner as the name suggests too

Move on to read my review and to see my first ever lip swatches.

My Experience with NYX Long Pencil Lip Plush Red:

Packaging: This lip liner comes in a slim black pencil packaging with a red color at the bottom which shows its shade i.e red and with a transparent cap. It is a wooden pencil so it may get wasted during sharpening but I’m sure it won’t get finished soon as it’s a very long pencil and sharpening it often won’t also make it finish soon.

Shade: This is a light red shade with pink undertones, it’s not that red but has slight pinkish shade to it. It can be worn alone if you don’t want much color on your lips or can be used as a base for red or pink lipstick, I feel it don’t go well when applied over a lip balm or vaseline as I tried using it once on top of vaseline and felt that it didn’t show any color. This shade will perk up fair complexion and may look odd on dark complexion, for me it flatters my skin tone which I like about it.

Staying Power: It stays fairly for 2-3 hours which is decent and settles as a light pink shade after few hours and completely vanishes after 5 hours or so. The staying power is average and you won’t need to use makeup remover to wipe it off coz it disappears completely after few hours

It will work great if used as a base for red lipstick, it will make the lipstick last long.

Texture: Texture is soft but not that soft and may accentuate the dryness and flakiness of lips and if you try to apply it over a lip balm then it does not show any color at all. It is a matte liner so you probably can guess the texture, it’s not creamy, requires multiple swipes to actually show the shade. It does not leave stains on objects at least not on my plastic cup.

Pigmentation: It is well pigmented but I think the pigmentation could have been better and it would have showed the actual red matte shade on application. It’s slightly less pigmented than I expect lipsticks or liners to be and wish it would have that true red color to it. This color will look more good on girls with cool undertones.
