In conjunction with the Centennial Committee, the Public Works Department is putting finishing touches on a Centennial Street Banner Program celebrating our 100th birthday by allowing families, individuals, businesses and institutions to sponsor colorful banners in the Mission District, on San Gabriel Blvd and Las Tunas Drive.
The banners are made of high quality durable material and being manufactured by Dekra-Lite. The City Council approved the design and policy last night, and the Public Works Department is ready to take orders.
Sponsors can select from a smaller Mission District banner design costing $150, or a larger street pole banner for $200 that will appear on Las Tunas Drive and San Gabriel Boulevard (along with other locations subject to the approval of the Public Works Director.)
