Notes From the Weekend

By Lilveggiepatch @Lilveggiepatch

Enormous -10 oz pours!- flight at Peculiar Pub with Ryan. They have a great selection of draft and bottled beers, but sadly only 1/4 of them (Sixpoint’s Sweet Action) didn’t taste watered-down and flavorless.

Neck bling! It’s all about confidence.

Morning romance by way of a breakfast date at Community. The tofu scramble was good, but it’s their baguette- with homemade jam!- that makes me swoon.

Lower-key- but no less special- bagels at our corner shop.

Forgetting to read all of the directions resulted in scooping out the pie filling, putting it back into the food processor, and pulsing in the lemon curd. Whoops!

But, it all worked out.

A no-bake, creamy berry pie in a hot kitchen in the dead of summer? Yes, please!

I made another ginormous salad to get me through the week at work. This guy had arugula, spinach, steamed broccoli, foraged cherries, grape tomatoes, yellow bell pepper, golden beets and Fuji apples. Enough different tastes and textures that I won’t get bored of it after a few days.
