Tablet computers are all the rage at the moment and there are quite a lot of them on the market. So if you decide to purchase one, you’ll have to think long and hard about which one you want. Last year, Nokia decided to join the party and released its first tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520.
The Lumia 2520 bears a striking resemblance to its smartphone cousins.
Announced at the same time as the Nokia Lumia 1520, the Finnish company’s tablet didn’t fail to draw everyone’s attention. The Lumia 2520 has a familiar colorful, polycarbonate body and it is available in black, white, cyan and red. The black and cyan variants come with a matte finish, while the white and red have a glossy finish. It might be a bit on the heftier side with 615 grams, but it’s not too heavy to carry and its rounded edges and rectangular shape definitely make it look like a larger version of a Lumia smartphone.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 boasts a 10.1in Full HD ClearBlack IPS display (1920 x 1080) with the pixel density of 218ppi. The colors are exceptionally vibrant and the ClearBlack technology makes it real easy to view the screen in bright light, for example, when you are outside. The screen is covered in Gorilla Glass 2, which ensures extra durability and protection against scratches.
Nokia’s tablet is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, backed by 2GB of RAM. It is the first Windows RT tablet with an 800 chipset and its performance is pretty impressive. The programs and apps launch quickly and the tablet breezes through everyday tasks. The Lumia 2520 comes with 32GB of internal storage, which you can expand through a microSD slot (up to 64GB). The Nokia Lumia 2520 runs on Windows 8.1 RT, the latest version of the ARM-based OS.

The Lumia 2520 features a 6.7-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The main camera works with the majority of Nokia apps, such as Nokia Refocus, Nokia Storyteller etc. It can also shoot 1080p videos and both photos and videos are sharp and bright. On the inside is a non-removable 8,120mAh battery, which is supposed to get you around 10 hours of talk time and 13 hours of video playback time. In terms of connectivity, the Nokia Lumia comes with dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE.
