First new Nine Inch Nails in 5 years eh? It’s got all the trademarks of a NIN song—out of this world sounds, some detuned, some slightly creepy, all wonderfully layered over an electronic/industrial beat. It’s interesting to hear Trent Reznor making music in a style that is so strongly associated with the early 90s/late 80s. But then again he’s not the only one doing that nowadays. He keeps it hip though, with forays into 2013 via certain electronic elements and the general hi fidelity nature of it. Of the upcoming NIN album, Hesitation Marks out September 3rd, Reznor said, “For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great.” It will be interesting to see what else he’s got up his sleeve…
