Sex Offender Locator App is a facebook application which gives the ability to locate sex offenders in their own neighborhoods, through facebook. It can now be found on the New York State Public Safety Facebook page.
New York has seen historic crime reductions over the past decade. It is the safest large state in the nation, and the 4th safest state overall, following South Dakota, North Dakota and Idaho. Twenty years ago, a total of 1.1 million crimes – murders, rapes, robberies, aggravated assaults, burglaries, larcenies and motor vehicle thefts – were reported in New York. Today, we live in safer communities and have hundreds-of-thousands of fewer crime victims.
