Yes I'm one of those people who makes resolutions, but i'm also one who tries their hardest to keep them, my resolution for 2012 was to have a baby, I managed to do that! Haha. I didn't make any for 2013 though because I wasn't in the greatest place at the beginning & didn't even remember my own name let alone make aspirations for the next 365 days! So this year I wanted to make a few resolutions, nothing that was going to stress me out or be unacomplishable in the year, so i've picked 3 things that may take the duration of 2014 but there is no set pressure at all!
Sort out the houseI'm starting today, a deep clean from top to tail, the living room is finished & looks sparkling clean, my next job is the kitchen and downstairs bathroom! Abbie seems to be in a good mood so I won't have her clinging to my leg either yay! I'm aiming to have the downstairs finished by the weekend, then I will move onto the upstairs! Ill be redoing our bedroom, turning Abbies room into a playroom and refurbishing the bathroom too over the next month, there's nothing better than having a squeaky clean house to start the year! I plan to keep on top of it and stop being so lazy, a spring clean once a month should keep it looking spruced! I'm planning on getting little accessories and some canvas printed to go around too, little personal touches really make it more homely! I was thinking about starting up a cleaning schedule too, monday can be cleaning the kitchen, tuesday, the bedroom etc etc, just so I can keep on top of things too, then feel proud of myself when I can tick them off! :)
Be healthy(er)
I won't say 'diet' because it's such a horrible word, I've been on many and I just end up feeling crappy! So I'm just going to make healthier choices, cut takeaways down (which also saves money), eat less biscuits (this will be the hardest...) and start exercising again, just starting off gentle and not putting too much pressure on myself, even taking Abbie out in the pram for 20 minutes will make a difference, for both of us! I'm not going to make a target weight loss or anything or check the scales, just as long as I feel good about myself, that's enough for me.. :). I've always done this but I was thinking about writing up a list of meals for the week too, so planning ahead, making sure everything is washed up and ready to use too!Save moneyWe would love to buy our own house in the next few years so thought we had better start saving now, or just put money away for a rainy day or in case of emergency. We don't really treat ourselves anymore so it would be nice to be able to have our date nights again, a nice meal out or a huge dominos where we then can't move off the sofa for the rest of the night! No Jess, MUST be healthy! A nice salad...hmmm. When we had our feature in Mother & Baby, we received some very helpful advice from a finance expert which was amazing, it really gave us some fab tips so will be putting that to use!
