New client with Advanced Digital Institute

The Advanced Digital Institute, the Bradford-based technology innovation company, appointed GREEN Communications to manage its public relations and social media marketing.
The Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) delivers specialist engineering research, programme delivery, funding support, partnership and networking opportunities, technical know-how, impartial advice, industry insight and fresh creative thinking.
The team at ADI are drawn from a wide range of technology businesses – including commercially experienced engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs.
GREEN, which is based in Wakefield, has been appointed to raise the profile of the company in the UK and develop a social media strategy that helps ADI connect with new audiences online.
GREEN Director Ian Green said: “ADI operates in a number of technological challenging areas include health, energy and communications and has established a strong reputation for innovative technology development services in its key markets.
“Our job at GREEN is to build on that legacy and hard-won reputation to help ADI develop new markets as it continues to grow as a successful UK technology company.”
Recently, ADI teamed up with a group of sustainable energy specialists as part of a major research consortium working with the “Low Carbon London” programme partners, to find innovative new ways of ‘ keeping the lights on’ and decarbonising energy supplies across the UK as demand increases.
ENER-G, ADI, Flexitricity, Smarter Grid Solutions and UK Power Networks, have secured £100,000 of funding from the Technology Strategy Board, the government’s innovation agency, to explore the development of next generation Virtual Power Plants using clusters of combined heat and power (CHP) systems to bolster supply, particularly to meet peaks in demand.
ADI chief executive John Eaglesham said: “It is a very exciting time for ADI to work with some of the UK’s key smart grid industry players in addressing the challenge of future energy supply. While shoring up electricity supplies, the project will also examine new solutions for low carbon, low cost heat distribution. This could incentivise the UK CHP industry to provide more CHPs in areas where current UK Government incentives have fallen short.”
