La Casa Vicina in New Windsor NY was near our destination - the Storm King Art Center - and has already created some buzz although open only 4 months. The menu is extensive and intriguing.
The bread served with a sweet red pepper puree was superb and the wines good albeit on the pricy side.
We more or less shared two starters and a main:- a delicious tomato broth with spicy sausage, clams and beans
- a portabello salad withe heaps of arugula and
- spaghetti with white clam sauce.
To finish off, Colette ordered a wonderful carrot cake that I must admit I ate much of and thoroughly enjoyed. Our bill before tip with two coffees and no bottled water was $91.84.Go again? Maybe on Next year's art tour.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
