Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that Taliban’s offer to start a dialog process should be taken seriously to ensure peace in the region.
“Economy thrives in peace, not war, especially on terrorism. We must sit on the table to negotiate peace and end the state of war”, he said while addressing to a convention of the recently-elected PML-N’s candidates here at Alhamra Hall.
“All options should be tried, and guns are not a solution to all problems,” he said.
Nawaz, who is set to be the prime minister of Pakistan for third time, said culture of overturning governments through demonstration on the streets should come to an end.
PML-N chief said all parties should all accept each others’ mandate open-heartedly. He said his party was in position to form government by making alliance with other parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but they not attempted so and given the chance to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).Nawaz Sharif said they neither did any negative propaganda during electoral campaign nor they abused anyone.
He said the people of Sindh have given the mandate to Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and they have the right to form government there, adding the federal government will fully cooperate with them.
“If the people of Sindh have reposed their mandate in PPP and MQM then they must deliver. The center will do all that it can to help the PPP and MQM to improve law and order situation in Karachi.”
Nawaz Sharif said PML-N’s candidates won with massive margin in Lahore but lost one seat in metropolis, it will be probed that why it happened. He said those who voted for PML-N and those who not did so will be served equally.
The former prime minister said he had always followed the law and constitution without breaching the either.
Nawaz Sharif said the country is facing a string of challenges, which are needed to be overcome.
