There was actually 4 classes. 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K. I chose to run for 5K as my starter.
The assembly time was 5am and gun start is at 6am.
Before the official time I was there at High Street as early as 4am and this is how I looked like.
Then after the 5K run my face turned all too red and burnt. I look and smelled sweaty (my hair too). How do I look without make up on?
The sun came up too early. We started running when the sun wasn’t there but when I finished the sun is up. I got to the finish line by 42 minutes and 26 seconds and then I realized I was stupid because I stopped to take a shot. I should have passed the sensor first and come back to take a shot. Turned out that my official time was 42 minutes and 28 seconds.

Uniliver also gave out loot bags for the marathon participants .
I realized that if you’re running with a lot of people you’ll never feel that the route was that long (most probably with 21k). I didn’t practice that much either I just got used to walking 2K everyday going to my office but compared to my running at NatGeo… I did it better. breathing techniques helped me keep up and jogging through the first quarter help me reserve energy for the other half kilometers.
The run wasn’t that difficult at all… the real thing was at the baggage claiming counter. Its as if there was someone giving away a million dollar because it was swamped with people. Can you just imagine extreme heat, compressed sweaty people, long line and fatigue all together?
