NaPoWriMo Day 12 & Poem a Day Challenge Prompt

By Shanesbookblog @shanesbookblog

*Warning*  Some Dark Depressing Harsh Poetry *Warning*

If you continue reading, don’t blame me if your day becomes oh so dreary, for I have warned you.

Today shall be a dark poetry day since I have been staying away from it these past few days. Time to dig a bit deeper, and try some harsher stuff, still I revel in truth but this will be much darker than the stuff I normally do.

Abuse

Burning heat set amongst the stone

a fairy tale book that dulls to the bone

rhyming to shadows as shadows emerge

sickness devolving as darkness was purged

would you like to stay amongst the dead

an immortal guest, amongst those never put to rest

hauntingly familiar while a stranger to it all

Staying the night in a house where spirits are mauled

a house of horrors can be any house if abuse is present

few look it in the eye but none the less it’s certainly evident

that this thing is out of control

what happens next is out of even gods control

but never let it swallow you whole,

for you can prevail and escape your hell

just look to the sky with bloody fists raised high

never ask for forgiveness if it’s just and justified

when most panic and run… desperate to hide

this game of utter life and death, you chose for him to die

Now rest weary eyes and let none ever again deprive

you of your self, your capable of anything just look deeper inside

you might be surprised of what it is you find

This is the picture Sahm picked for us to use from the FX show “American Horror Story”

Here is today’s Challenge for the Prompt which is completely optional but I absolutely loved Sahms idea for today:  Micro poetry, in the form of the six word story.  There is no real structure or rhyme scheme to the six word story.  It is your choice whether or not to adhere to the form, but try to be as cryptic as possible.

And Here is my Six Word Stories Prompt for Today’s Poem A Day Challenge.

This sounds easy but as I have found out…it’s kind of hard.
