They still are many’s favorites. Amongst the giant nail polish companies each showering us with endless colors and ideas how to paint our nails, others shine over the rest with their wide range of colors and that leave us with little chances to say no to the fad.

Choosing The Right Nail Polish
Back in the days, nail polish companies mostly braved only for bold colors like red and similar hues matched with red lips thus giving the impression of sophistication and untamed wildness to the one wearing it. The unprecedented and new twist of cuts, styles, glitters and gloss of many designer houses in fashion industries has also made nail polish to shade into the same umbrella of evolution in shapes, colors and styles.
The once reds and the likes shades of nail polish are slowly teamed with pastel and neon colors, of which are making a huge trend among women of all ages and genre. Pastels and neons are greatly welcomed by greater number of women, young and adults because of the flexibilities of who will wear it and where to wear it.
While reds are trademarked for sophistication and power, the latter colors suits women on the go, young and adults. The wider market creates stiff competition among manufacturers to come up with more beautiful shades and these give women the freedom to create looks themed with their outfit and makeup. Nail polish manufacturers also innovate new technologies making nail polish more durable, chip resistant, water and detergent resistant and even adding UV protection to prevent discoloration.
Muslim Women on Nail Polish

Muslim women are not spared from the call of vanity and beauty and the colorful nail polish. Muslim women can still join the club but of course with some guidelines to follow. Nail polish is deterrent to wudhu or ablution which is washing parts of the body that includes the nails before offering five daily prayers. Applying nail polish can be quite a chore to Muslim women, who have to remove it every prayer. Many Muslim women opted not to join the craze because it isn’t practical at all to remove and reapply nail polish every prayer. Personally, I wouldn’t suggest using nail polish on daily basis for that reason.
For Muslim women who love to adorn their nails with nail polish, it is a must to remove it every time you pray because nail polish invalidates wudhu which would render your prayer invalid as well and for this reason many women choose to use nail polish only on girls parties where it would be easier to remove it afterwards or at times when they aren’t praying.
Conspicuous nail polish like the ones shown above could attract attention and may not be a good suggestion to be worn in public by Muslim women. It was presented with the intention of using it in girls parties.
On the lighter side, there are nail polish brands that already came up with breathable nail polish. The technology used supposed to allow air and water vapor to penetrate into the fingernails. Brand like Inglot is offering such nail polish. I’m not sure if their nail polish claimed to be true so please seek advice from qualified professionals who are expert on the matter when it pertains to your faith, after all, we wouldn’t want to compromise our faith for a piece of vanity.
