My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream from NHS (UK)

NHS Sunflower Cream MAIN FAF

When I first heard about My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream - a moisturising cream which was developed by the NHS (UK’s National Health Service) – I was not convinced at all. But after reading more about it I started to get curious – especially when I discover that My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream aka My Trusty is based on the formula the Salisbury District Hospital created to be used as a daily moisturizer for patients recovering from plastic surgery or burns. Now that must be one ‘serious’ cream, I thought! A couple of years ago – after years of listening to former patients’ requests to be able to buy My Trusty after they had been discharged – Salisbury District Hospital decided to start selling this little ‘miracle’ cream to public. You can still buy the original formula plus The Trusty directly from Salisbury District Hospital. All the sales profits go back to improving the Salisbury District Hospital patient care.

We got a tube of the Lavender Scented My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream (now that’s a mouthful!) to try here at Fashion Addicted Foodies and after using it for a couple of weeks I am quite pleased with the product. My Trusty uses Sunflower oil which helps to improve the texture of the skin, making it very smooth. It has a non-greasy and fast-absorbent formula. It actually really does! As said previously all profits from the sales of My Trusty are invested into patient care, so you can feel good while making your skin feel good as well.
You can choose an unscented cream or a lavender-scented one. I love lavender, so I chose to try the Lavender Scented My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream. No perfume is used in the production, the lavender used is pure lavender oil. A word of warning though, if you are not a fan of heavily scented creams the lavender one might not be for you as at first when you apply the cream the lavender scent is quite strong. It does faint quite fast, so in a few hours you’ll only have a whiff of lavender left. But if strong scents are not your cup of tea, I would recommend the Unscented My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream instead.

My Trusty is easy to apply, it glides on smoothly on the skin and does not leave a sticky residue. I have used it as a hand cream as my hands tend to dry out easily. I initially applied it 2-3 times a day (ok, my hands were in a really bad condition), but then found out that as it’s very effective moisturizer I only needed to apply it once a day. Perfect! My Trusty makes my hands silky smooth thus making them look younger. Now tell me if that isn’t a fabulous ‘side effect’!!

My verdict about the Salisbury District Hospital NHS’s My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream is that this little no frills moisturising cream is exactly what it’s hyped to be. It’s great for everyday use. It’s non-greasy, easily absorbent and very effective. The tube lasts for a long time as you only have to apply a small amount of it to get effective results. Plus don’t forget that you can do some good as well by purchasing My Trusty Little Sunflower Cream, as the profits go 100% to the much-needed improvement of the Salisbury District Hospital NHS patient care.
