My Travel Makeup Bag

By Bethtinkerbell @TinksLostGirls

I was supposed to be away for a few days at the beginning of this week, unfortunately I’m not so great which has meant I had to come back home after just one night. I thought I’d share with you the makeup that I packed to take with me, it’s a very condensed version of my everyday makeup look and I had to switch a few products due to the size of my makeup bag.

I took the smallest makeup bag I own, but as you can see I still managed to fit plenty in there, it was a hell of a squeeze I tell ya!

I’ll start off with what I put on my face!

Benefit Porefessional £24.50I have been loving Porefessional for years, ever since I got a free sample in Glamour magazine, I would not be without it when i’m applying makeup which I want to look great. I don’t use it for when I’m at work but otherwise it’s a daily essential. I am on the hunt for a cheaper primer to use on a more regular basis, as I can’t really afford to buy Porefessional for everyday use.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 – I have this in the shade Light 2, and I find that it works really well for me. I know that a lot of people love it but there are some people who hate it. I can definitely say that I’m on of those people who love it. I tend to use this for covering up any blemishes that I have.

Seventeen Phwoarr Paint £5.49 – Phwoarr paint is my under eye concealer and works a treat! I have the shade Fair which is perfect for me. It’s easy to blend and really covers up dark circles.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation £10.99 – I love this foundation, I find it really easy to apply with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush, it’s easy to blend and a little goes a long way. I have the shade 51 Light Vanilla which is a good match for my pale skin.

Sleek Face Form £9.99I took this away with me because it’s the most compact highlighter and bronzer I have, it’s an added bonus that it gives me an extra blusher to play with. I have the shade Fair, and the bronzer is easy to work with, I hate having a bronzer which takes ages to blend, there ain’t no time for that!

MAC Mineralize Blush £20I couldn’t resist this when I went shopping with Emily, we happened to go shopping the day the A Fantasy of Flowers collection was released and we were both won over. I have the shade Petal Power which has a lovely gold shimmer running through, and it just looks so lovely when on.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural £22I have the shade Light Plus and it is definitely one of my essential pieces of makeup, I use this to help set my makeup once I have finished applying it all, and also to touch it up throughout the day. I find that it looks natural and is super easy to blend in.

Now we’re on to my eyes.

ELF Eyelid Primer £1.95 – I have this in Sheer, the doe foot applicator makes it really easy to apply, dab a bit on and then rub it in with your finger, simples!

Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer Sheer Cream Eyeshadow £2.25 – I have the shade Cashmere Plum and I use this to give my lids an all over wash of color. It’s super easy to apply and gives good coverage.

MAC Pro Palette QuadMy lovely sister bought me this for Christmas, and it includes the shades All that Glitters, Gleam, Sable, and Woodwinked. I use Gleam to highlight my inner corner, and then use Sable in the crease.

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner £7.99 – I love the intense color of this eyeliner, and it’s just so easy to apply. It doesn’t dry out quickly when on the brush and so there’s no rush to get it applied like i’ve had with other gel eyeliners in the past.

Illamasqua Eye Colouring Pencil £15The pencil I have has been discontinued but the on I have linked is it’s replacement. I have the shade Sophie which donates money towards the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, i think it’s amazing that a brand like Illamasqua has paired up with the foundation. Anyway, I use this for lining under my eye, but it’s also great for using on the lid and smudging out.

Collection Longer Lashes Mascara £2.99I picked this up on a whim and I don’t really think it’s all that lengthening, however it does make my lashes look nice so i’m not complaining.

Etude House Drawing Eye Brown Pencil £2.59I have the shade Brown and I find it super easy to apply, the pencil is angled and at the other end is a little brush so that you can make it look natural.

ELF Loose Eyeshadow £2.50 – I popped this in my makeup bag because it’s new, I have the shade Lilac and it’s a lovely color which I think will go nicely with my MAC eyeshadows. It’s in a pen format that you dab into the eyeshadow, I’m not so sure how easy it will be to use as you get towards finishing up the eyeshadow.

You may have noticed that there’s no lip products mentioned and that’s because I always have a few of my favourites in my handbag ready for me to use.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what I packed in my travel makeup bag. If you have any primer recommendations for one similar to Porefessional then please let me know.

Tink x
