My Journey for a New Car!

By Shivam Ralli @shivamralli167

“We need to get a bigger means of transport.”
The voice of my wife still rang in my ears. Our family had gone bigger than what our vehicle could support. As of now, we have a two-seater car, Reva. It holds a huge part in our life.  I still remember the day when our parents gifted us the car. Our parents were huge environmental freaks. And now when our kids can no longer sit on our laps, I need to search for a new car.
My budget as of now couldn’t support a new car. I could have gone for smaller 4-seater cars, but this time my wife demanded a big car- I guess that she is tired of sitting in the congested Reva. And so I began to search for a second hand car on the web.
I noticed that I could sell my car online too! I clicked the link and it led me to Quickr website.  I noticed that there were many second hand cars there too! This was exactly what I wanted! I clicked some pictures of my beloved Reva and then uploaded them on Quickr. I installed the Quickr nxt application too as I just hate spam calls. Chatting seems like a better option to me. I then began scanning for second hand cars on the web.

In the end, I had handpicked 4 cars. Honda city, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Toyota Etios and an old Honda CRV. I personally liked the City, before I bought it, I had to discuss with my wife which one would be the best for the 4 of us.
Suddenly I heard a ping on my mobile, I saw that I had got an offer for my car on the Nxt application. I saw that the buyer had agreed to my offer! I was glad! I quickly called up my wife and told her what had happened. I could hear the grin in her voice when I finished the narration. I then contacted the buyer on the necessities and how he could come to my office and take the car. He agreed.
Within 5 hours he came, made the payment and left with my car. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the Reva going. It had stayed with us for a long time-14 years. I went back and sat down on a chair. I began to think about how it had been a part of so many of our happy memories. How it had broken down once we were going to Shimla. How its battery had depleted while we were going to a diner joint.
Breaking out of my reverie, I called my wife and told what had happened. I could tell by her thick voice that she was sad too. I then told her about how I liked the Honda city the best. She said that I could buy whichever I liked and would be suitable for my family. I consented with her decision.
I contacted the seller through the app. He replied instantly that he was pleased that someone was interested in buying his car. I made an offer and he haggled a bit. In the end, we met in the center and finalized the deal. I took a bus to his house and paid him the amount which I had withdrawn the day before. I could feel the happy and sad emotions in the air.
We finally completed the required necessities. I took the keys, greeted him farewell and began on my way back home. Quickr was a pleasurable experience for me. I was successful in getting a new and better car. I began humming to a song and drove.
