My iTunes Gift Card Experience

By Kaye

Yesterday, I got my iTunes Gift Card worth $25 and I was extremely happy. I know, I may be exaggerating but I really am. I always take advantage of all the free apps on Apple Store which I think can do me favors as far as productivity is concern and not to mention the brain teaser games that keep me insane.

For obvious reasons, other apps need to be purchased and for you to do that, you need a credit card. Since I don’t have one, I always end up asking favor from a friend to get the app for me. I thought, iTunes cards are only available in the US so I didn’t bother inquiring about it until recently when a colleague told me that I can get it in leading bookstores here in Saudi Arabia. Really? To make the story short, a friend got one for me yesterday. I should be enjoying buying my favorite apps by now huh? But no!

To my disappointment, when I tried to redeem the code, it says, that it can only be redeemed in US iTunes Storefront. It doesn’t work both on iPhone and iPad. I panicked. Whoa! What will I do with this $25 gift card then? I think, I should open a US-based account but how? I need to fill the address, the state, the phone number and etc. There were many suggestions on how to do it but I don’t know the veracity of their suggestions and so am still waiting for the right person to tell me how. Who could be that right person? Up to this moment, no right person yet to help me 😔.

So for now, I’ll keep this gift card until someone save my $25. It was really a disappointment but anyhow I’ll charge it to experience. I know, this would still work after all, why would a leading bookstore sell it to the customers here if it ain’t working.

Enough for my rants, it’s still a beautiful day and there’s so much to celebrate and be thankful for. Have a good day!

xoxo
