My Favorite Things: I is for Ice Cream

My Favorite Things: I is for Ice Cream Is there anyone out there who doesn't like ice cream? Well, there may be a few...But... almost everyone loves to have some ice cream especially on a hot summer's day. :)

I love ice cream. More so if it's chocolate ice cream or any other flavor that incorporates chocolate. However, I don't mind having some Butterscotch, Vanilla, or even Keso (that's cheese -- it's a really yummy flavor of ice cream normally sold in the Philippines) or Ube (purple yam). Darn... this post is making me drool.

The past week, I found a really healthy ice cream recipe -- frozen banana ice cream. You may have read in my earlier post (B is for Banana Cake) that we have a lot of bananas from our veg and fruit garden. And we have much more than Dad and I can possibly eat by ourselves. So I tried to look for stuff I can make from bananas and I found that frozen (peeled) bananas get this delicious ice cream consistency when blended.

So I tried it. I froze 3 bananas at first (I forgot to peel it which made things complicated and resulted in finger-numbing peeling) and I cut them up into small slices and put them in the blender. After a few pulses... I ended up with delicious banana ice cream!!!

When I made it again, I decided to add a teaspoon of Horlick's chocolate for a twist... Heaven!!! Hmmm... there are still some bananas in the freezer... excuse me as I make myself a quick ice cream treat. ;)
