Bloggiesta starts on Thursday! Bloggiesta is a big virtual work party for maintaining and improving our blogs. It’s going for four days which will be a good amount of time for spring cleaning. Check out the Bloggiesta web site for other people’s sign up posts and the times for the Twitter chats.
First, I have the things I always do at the beginning of Bloggiesta:
- Back up WordPress site with FileZilla
- Back up blog with WordPress Tools
- Do WordPress updates
- Test my website load time with Pingdom Tools as recommended by The Redhead Riter
- Run the security scan at Sucuri as recommended by Sophisticated Dorkiness
Next, some things I hope to accomplish during this Bloggiesta:
- Complete one or more mini-challenges
- Participate in one or more Twitter chats
- Visit lots of blogs
- Fix up my categories, including banish “Miscellaneous”
- Update my Health Books page
- Look into the JetPack plug-in
- Look into the Yoast SEO plug-in
- Draft future blog posts
