My 3 Essentials for Styling White Dresses This Summer

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
I have been embracing summery, just-throw-on-and-go dresses and white is one color that has made it's way to my closet in abundance this spring. Be it a blouse, a mini dress or even this lace number on me today, white seems to have taken my closet by storm. I have no grievance against myself for transforming one section of my closet into this white colorless zone, but trust me- there is nothing more comfortable and soul-satisfying than a pretty white dress. It is a sight to sore eyes.
Think of a white dress like a plain canvas- fill it with colors, patterns, textures and create your own masterpiece. My masterpiece is uber feminine and effortless and edgy and I needed just a few essentials to make this look standout.
A KILLER PAIR OF HEELS  Your sole are a reflection of your soul...... trust me- your shoes speak a lot about your personality. Just by shoe-gazing or taking a look at someone's shoes you can get all the cues about their mood and personality. Clearly, I was feeling a bit dressy that day and yeah I am the girl who loves everything  feminine and classy with a bit of an edge. Irrespective, the studded heels add that pizzaz to my dress. I could have worn something bright, but I wanted to add color with yet another accessory that is next on my essentials list.

A COLORED BAG
For the last couple of years I have been really watchful about my shopping, specially when it comes to bags. ' Quality over Quantity' is my new shopping mantra. I consider my bag as an investment piece and don't mind splurging if I know the bag will last me forever. I bought a few high end bags in classic colors, and now some colored good quality bags are on my radar. The Salar bag that I am carrying is an instant outfit-picker and the perfect pop of color that any white dress could use. So, don't be afraid, carry your brightest bag with your next white outfit- you will thank me for this advice.

OVER-THE-TOP ACCESSORIES
If not for the statement headband, I would have either worn a turquoise or a shell necklace with that dress. An obvious choice though and the color-mixing standards set for summer by this industry and/or even the retailer catalogues is to be blamed for that. Anyways, I went a little overboard with my choice of accessory accessories by pairing a statement necklace with another statement pair of earrings and honestly I think I fared well. The headband and the earrings both have a pearly finish and both being a neutral is what makes them look like a cute couple. Don't be afraid to pair two statement pieces, as long as they are in the same color family, you won't go wrong with that pairing.
