#music Tramlines - Preview - Slow Club

The best thing about Tramlines is it showcases just how good the musicians of Sheffield actually are, beneath the big boys, Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Little Man Tate (jokes) etc... Along with Hey Sholay and The Everly Pregnant Brothers, Slow Club are another under-the-radar band who deserve far more success than they have been given for their two widely different LPs.

The Yorkshire duo, Rebecca and Charles compliment each other in a way that a lot of boy/girl combos fail to. The pair have a certain charm about them that makes them so likeable, you can't help but smile as they enthusiastically perform. I haven't seen them since they were touring their twee folk debut Yeah, So and they have changed a lot as the transition between that record and its follow up, Paradise was huge, developing the sound into some far larger than their simpler debut as they worked with more complex beats and varied arrangements. Who knows where their forthcoming record will go, I'm sure we'll get a sneak peak at the festival though!

Catch Slow Club somewhere in Sheffield over the weekend (venue and time TBA). Hopefully more details will be available here ASAP!
