#music Tramlines - Preview - Hey Sholay

One of my Tramlines 2012 highlights was Hey Sholay's main stage performance on a sunny Saturday afternoon, this time round they return in very different circumstances. The local heroes will be doing a special set at the beautiful, enchanting and ornate Cathedral, lets face it, church gigs are always way better, not sure if it's the atmospheric building or just the fact your drinking a can of beer, watching some rock 'n' roll in a religious setting, either way, you'll be a fool to miss out.


The quintet have been mastering the art of making complex pop for a few years now and despite Steve Lamacq's valiant efforts last years debut album ((O)) was largely overlooked, wrongly. It's hard to pinpoint and label Hey Sholay as they crossover so many genres, add a handful of influences to create something catchy, interesting and most importantly, great.
