Who would have thought, back in 2007, when nu rave turned indie in to dance music and a geeky Scot called Calvin Harris come across as a one-hit-wonder with Acceptable In The 80's would see him evolve in to one of the wealthiest musicians in the world seven years on. Since Klaxons took the first step in bringing synth back in to music, Justice made guitars seem inadequate, things have changed dramatically, especially in the States where they had never embraced dance music like the UK and Europe in the 80's and 90's, they rebranded it EDM (Electronic Dance Music), a new wave of superstar DJ's arrived and Calvin Harris has become a poster boy for the latest craze which has become extremely lucrative.
When America likes something, they love it and EDM is a massive deal, especially in Vegas where DJs and clubs have replaced the casinos and magicians. Along with Harris, Tiesto and David Guetta are all cashing in one the latest trend. Going to watch a DJ is no longer seeing a fella stand behind some decks, pretend to press some buttons and set air horns off, constantly. They have upped their game, created a spectacle with elaborate light shows and pyrotechnics with a killer sound track of big beats and major hits.

Unlike the other Brits at ACL the superstar DJ won't need to be flying over the Atlantic as he has been residing in the States for some time now.
