The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday unveiled its manifesto for the forthcoming general election.
Dr. Farooq Sattar, the deputy Convener of MQM Coordination Committee, announced the manifesto alongside other party members at nine zero.
The manifesto, which the party described as people-centric, promise to cope with several issues including education, health, unemployment, economy, corruption, governance, terrorism, law and order, labor sectors and poverty alleviation.
Dr Sattar said the key of country’s development and prosperity lies in empowerment of people, adding his party will take measures towards empowering the masses. He pledged that MQM will bring landlords and feudal class under tax net and impose agricultural tax.
The MQM leader regretted that despite of the subsistence of democratic set-up in the country, it not tricked down to the lower level, adding the local body system is the part of MQM’s election manifesto and it will hold local body elections for delegation of powers to the grass-root level.
Dr. Sattar also said that the public sector schools will be upgraded and dual educational systems will be finished, adding the Urdu medium educational institutions will be brought at par with the English medium institutions.
He further said that MQM will stabilize the PIA, Railways, Pakistan Steal and other institutions and loyal and dedicated people will be employed in these institutions.
Speaking to media from London telephonically after the announcement of election manifesto, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said his party’s manifesto has presented the solution of the problems of suppressed people of Pakistan.
The urged the journalists and columnists to study MQM’s manifesto comprehensively and analyze over it.
