If you were to read Get On Up as a book, and had no idea who James Brown actually was (then you quite clearly would not be from this planet… who does not know James Brown…anyway….) you would probably think it was the best book of fiction you have ever read. But it’s all true of course, James Brown’s journey from his very humble beginnings to becoming the Godfather of Soul. Directed by Tate Taylor (Academy Award nominated “The Help”) and starring Chadwick Boseman (who played another legend Jackie Robinson in “42″) Get On Up is an unflinching look at the real life behind the legend.
