The Real Madrid manager will apparently decline any approach from the Football Association and has played down his trip to London this week
Jose Mourinho will reject any job offer from the Football Association regarding the Englandmanager’s vacancy.
Mourinho is one of only a few managers being hotly tipped to succeed Fabio Capello, but recent revelations suggest that such a scenario is unlikely.
“There is no way Jose will coach England,” a source close to the Portuguese told The Sunday Times. “He loves the football in England but there is no chance of this at all. What he wants is a club.”
The FA have explained the process they have put in place and have made it clear that they will not rush the appointment.
“We’ve got a list,” said FA general secretary, Alex Horne, last week. “It’s a back-end-of-the-season decision for us. We recognize that a lot of the managers on the list are employed and we don’t want to interrupt anyone’s season. We’re not rushing this and we are expecting something at the back end of the season.”
The Real Madrid boss was spotted in London with his wife on Tuesday completing their purchase of a property.
Mourinho told reporters: “I don't have to explain to anybody what I do in my personal life,” he said. “When one of us travels out of Madrid we inform the club as a matter of courtesy. I told the president and the director general. What I do or don’t do is my issue. On Monday I will be away again and I don’t have to fill out a form asking permission.”
