The autumn day we planned to go to Maroon Bells outside of Aspen, Colorado, was rainy and cold. Not the best conditions for a photographer but feeling optimistic we went anyway. I set up my camera with a couple other hearty "photogs" and waited. The top of the mountain was totally shrouded in cloud cover most of the morning. Then very very slowly the mountain shyly peeked through revealing the season's first snow on top. A sunny day just would not have been the same. This mountain happens to be one of the most photographed spots in Colorado but I bet most photos were not taken on this day. Hope you like it!
