An amazing island in the Okinawa archipelago, Japan, ranks first among the most popular holiday destinations recommended by TripAdvisor for 2018. Although unknown to most tourists, it has been classified as the new Bali or Hawaii.

Ishigaki, an island in the Okinawa archipelago, Japan, is ranked No. 1 among the top recommended destinations by TripAdvisor in 2018. The score was awarded according to the annual increase of TripAdvisor user votes, goals and the number of annual reservations. Ishigaki is the largest in Okinawa, Japan, and hosts numerous beaches of white sand, rare corals, mountains and mangrove forests, writes businessinsider.com. It is a popular destination for snorkelling (snorkelling activity / swimming at the surface of the water) and known for its specialties, such as noodles, flour instead of traditional buckwheat, according to TripAdvisor. The average price for a hotel stay on the island is 114 pounds. Okinawa has been classified as the new Bali or Hawaii, and international tourism is growing rapidly. Bloomberg reported that the number of visitors to Okinawa increased by 10.5%, reaching 8.77 million in 2016. Data are comparable to those recorded in Hawaii – 8.93 million visitors.
