Have you had a cocktail drink from a Moscow mule copper mug yet? Well, I got to experience drinking from an ultra stylish yet ancient-looking copper mug! 'My Kitchen Concepts' sent me their 100% Solid Copper 16 Oz Hammered Moscow Mule Mug to review, and that got me thinking about how to put this mug to use. I don't care for hard liquors, but that didn't stop me from enjoying a cold cocktail drink in this mug.
The original Moscow mule recipe is a mix of ginger beer, vodka, and freshly squeezed lime juice served over crushed ice in a copper cup. The copper cup is actually the most important, special part of this recipe. It is meant to make this drink chilled. Here's an article on Huffington post which I found quite interesting - Why In The World Is It Called A Moscow Mule, Anyway?
Finally, here's my feedback on the mug that I received. It is beautifully hammered all around and it comes with a nice handle. It is shiny, well made, and best of all- it kept my drinks cold. The mug's solid double wall construction is ideal for helping the drinks stay chilled. It just weighs around five and a half ounces and holds 16 ounces of drinks. It is just a gorgeous looking mug! In order to keep it that way, you would have to hand wash and dry it right after. I would also periodically polish the exteriors with either a copper polish or salt and lemon. All in all, this is a great way to enjoy a cold cocktail at home!
