For those who do not know what a ‘meme’ is, they are themes that bloggers participate in on a regular basis, with a link to the main blog/blogger who hosts it. They can be monthly and about anything and there are many garden memes such as:
Garden Bloggers Bloom Day hosted by May Dreams Gardens and contributors post on the 15th of each month. This is a great way of seeing blooms from around the world and in your own country at the same time of the year.
End of Month View, hosted by Patient Gardener, here garden bloggers write and share photographs as review of their own gardens at the end of each month. An extremely useful way of diarising our gardens and if you do this regularly then you can compare how gardens looked the year before.
There are many more to choose from, but the two above are ones I regularly take part in. There is a beautiful blog called Roses and Other Garden Joys which lists garden memes that you might find of interest if you are looking to take part.
Meme’s can also be weekly, Wordless Wednesday is just what it says, a picture with no words of explanation. I have never actually found where this originated from so have been unable to link it to another blog. However it is well followed just by tagging it.
I was browsing through gardening blogs this morning, by way of a catch up, and came across Mosaic Monday on Dear Little Red House. There are times when I want to post photos of the lovely plants and flowers in my garden but don’t always want to write much narrative. Meme’s such as this and Wordless Wednesday are great for such a moment.
