The sun
makes me want automatically to go on holidays, that’s all! I already imagine long walks in the midst of the
verdant paths on the mountain, or in the villages on the hills scattered throughout
all the Italy. I imagine to be at a little bar on the shore of the lake
surrounded by the flowers, drinking a
fresh juice. I imagine a long beach where you lie down and read! It sounds so
good!
Monte Argentario
I wanted to suggest a truly lovely place with this my desire to vacation. We reach about the half of Italy on the west coast and we stop at a place called Monte Argentario. Geographically speaking it is a promontory overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.If you wish to go in this area and not spend so much for your holiday, you will avoid to stay on the cape and you can book your hotel in the neighboring cities that are just as nice although less exclusive. If you're on your honeymoon or you want a place a bit exclusive you can stay in some hotel on the cape. If you decide to go out of season (so you have to avoid July and August, maybe you can go in September or May- they are the perfects months) you can find some affordable deals in this exclusive place.

In any case, on the promontory you will be in a Mediterranean environment: here you can smell the perfume of the maritime pine and the rosemary that grows wild in front of this beautiful sea. The beaches are small and often private. The view from this promontory is absolutely unique. You can admire the exceptional sunsets on the horizon and see the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. The human presence in this promontory is definitely ancient. The Romans certainly had appreciated this place and it seems to have been the property of the gens Domitia. Strabone in the "De Geographia" mentions this promontory.You can stay in this lush Mediterranean scrub or in Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. This last village is an important center and it was attended since the time of the Romans, it is now a village of fishermen that comes alive during the summer. If you want to eat the good fish you should sit in a restaurant here because it is really good!
In any case, among the landscapes, the dense nature of the promontory and the two villages that brighten up the area this promontory is a charming place to spend a memorable holiday or even a special anniversary.

Il sole fa automaticamente venire voglia di vacanze, non c’è niente da fare. Già mi immagino lunghe passeggiate in mezzo a verdeggianti sentieri in montagna, oppure nei borghi sulla colline sparse un po’ in tutta Italia. Ancora immagino una bella spremuta bevuta ad un baretto in riva al lago circondata da fiori o ancora una lunga spiaggia dove stendermi e leggere! Sì che bello! Con questa voglia di vacanze volevo suggerirvi un posto veramente incantevole. Arriviamo circa a metà Italia sulla costa ovest e ci fermiamo in una località chiamata Monte Argentario: Geograficamente parlando è un promontorio che si affaccia nel Mar Tirreno. Se desiderate di frequentare la zona e spendere una cifra media per le vostre vacanze evitate di soggiornare sul promontorio ma alloggiate nelle località limitrofe che sono altrettanto belle anche se meno esclusive. Se invece siete in viaggio di nozze o volete stare in un posto un po’ esclusivo potete soggiornare sul promontorio stesso. Se decidete di andare fuori stagione ( quindi evitate luglio ed agosto, magari andate in settembre che è un mese splendido o maggio) potete trovare delle offerte convenienti e permettervi il posto esclusivo. In ogni caso sul promontorio siete a stretto contatto con un ambiente mediterraneo: nell’aria sentirete il profumo del pino marittimo e del rosmarino che cresce spontaneo, di fronte avrete questo mare splendido. Le spiagge sono piccole e spesso private. La visuale da questo promontorio è assolutamente unica. Potete ammirare dei tramonti eccezionali e vedere all’orizzonte l’Isola del Giglio e l’isola di Giannutri. La presenza su questo promontorio è sicuramente antica e i Romani sicuramente apprezzavano il luogo per quanto pare fosse di proprietà della gens Domizia. Strabone nel “De Geographia” fa cenno al promontorio. Si può soggiornare in questa lussureggiante macchia mediterranea oppure a Porto Ercole e Porto Santo Stefano . Quest’ultimo è un centro importante e fu frequentato sin dal tempo dei romani, adesso è un pesino di pescatori che si anima durante l’estate. Se volete mangiare del buon pesce approfittatene perché qui è veramente buono!
