Monsters and children go hand in hand. Children love to explore and their minds are like an open sea where they can dive into and explore different possibilities. The Chilean Government has helped to fund a project to make sure that children’ s minds to not get stuck in a certain rut - a machine that will allow children to make real objects with your mind. A real way to light the fire of imagination. The project teaches children about the ideas behind the invention by exploring scientific, art and engineering principles.
The children are asked to create fantastical creatures of the mind and the machine makes these creatures into real physical objects. The creatures reflect the environment in which the children were born.
The technique behind is fascinating. Epoc neural headsets are used to detect brain patterns, which are used to evolve a 3D model from a genetic seed. This DNA seed is later used to make the model real by using a 3 D printer. This seed is the starting point of an evolutionary chain, and used as building new monsters. Each new generation is evolving and changing. Just like in real life, mutations occur but here how well a mutation does is determined by the mind.
