Just when we were sweating over the ever increasing heat in the Middle East and looking for indoor options for children’s entertainment as going to parks and beaches will no longer be our destination for coming few months, Modhesh World opened it’s door in our rescue. For those who aren’t aware about Modhesh World (which is very doubtful), it is the most popular innovative and exciting destination located at World Trade Centre in Dubai packed with multitude of activities for children and families. It starts during the summer holidays and runs till September and is open everyday (please check the website for timings during Ramadan and other days), enough to cover most of the summer months. The tickets are priced at 15 AED for children and 10 AED for adults. They occupy huge area on the ground floor of Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre which in itself is breath-taking the moment you step inside.

Come every weekend and I am racking my brains for places we can take Little A to if we are not socialising with friends that particular day. As I surf through the cluster of options available in the embellished malls of Dubai, the city never ceases to surprise me. We couldn’t take Little A to Modhesh World last year because we thought he wont have many choices to explore and is mainly build for children of older age groups. But we were so wrong! I was startled as I stepped inside the gigantic spacious area and first thing to come to my notice was a soft play area for babies who are less than 12 months, just near the entrance and as you keep walking you’ll come across different play sections and a mini park available for children who cannot enjoy big rides. Little A has been to most of the play areas in Dubai, so the moment he sees bouncy castles, carrousels or fancy musical and colourful rides he starts jumping with joy! He sat in number of rides but two things that he tried for the first time and still talk about are the boat ride and the bungee trampoline. He was specifically amazed with the boat ride because he was handed his own oar to row the boat for a good 5 minutes. The captain of his own ship is what I like to tease him now-a-days and he is more than happy to be reminded of the wonderful time he spent that day. The bungee trampoline was quite enthralling too since he loves jumping on the spring mattress we have at home which he thinks is a home made trampoline for himself.

I get super excited with kids’ ideas that provide entertainment as well as work on strengthening their motor skills plus provide education at the same time and the fun zones in Modhesh World were something I was mighty pleased with. There also was high-rope climbing section that was surrounded by excited children of older age groups, which looked equally pleasurable to do.
Also, this was the day when Little A took the lead and led us to different areas of his interest instead of us guiding him around the place. Just when we thought we had seen the whole place and exhausted our pre filled gaming card, we found a juggler doing his tricks amidst awe-struck children and adults alike. After that we witnessed an acrobatic show that takes places every 1 hour with artists pleasing the crowd with their marvellous stunts and the audience couldn’t wait to cheer them for their unbelievable bravery by clapping loudly in every few minutes.
And when I am at places like these, I want to be a child again soaking up all the innocence and being care -free but there are maximum height sign marks for every ride that stops me from doing so. I love visiting all such nooks and corners in the city with Little A because I love the feeling of thrill I get to watch on his face and want to freeze the time right then.
