Our sincere congratulations to Megan Young, Miss Philippines, for winning the title of Miss World for 2013. The beautiful Miss Philippines was born in the USA but lives in the Philippines, becoming the first Filipina to win the crown.

Second place went to Miss France Marine Lorphelin and Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter took third place to round out the top three contestants.
Miss World Marine Lorphelin represented France.
The winner of the Miss Russia contest, Elmira Abdrazakova, represented the Russian Federation.
Representing Russia was Miss Elmira Abdrazakova.
By virtue of her Miss Russia title, Miss Abdrazakova is the official representative of Russia for the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants, the world’s top beauty contests. Miss Russia has been active in promoting charity work across Russia since her coronation in March of this year.

The winner of the Miss Ukraine Universe pageant, Anna Zaiachkivska, made it to the top 20 of the finalists.
Pageant officials were forced to move the competition to Bali from the capital, Jakarta, due to threats of violence from Muslim groups against the showcasing of women in beauty contests. Security was high but there were no incidents. The resort island of Bali has a minority Hindu population.
The Miss Universe pageant will be held in Moscow on 9 November 2013.
