Entertainment Magazine
On behalf of myself, Corey and Alberta we’d like to wish you all the very best for a Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years.
2014 has been a big year for Sound Check Entertainment. We’ve added new writers, new partners, new events and have had the chance to get to know and interview some amazing new artists. From promoting the Ontario runs of the Bands on The Run Tour and Riser Tour to interviews with Dallas Smith, The Road Hammers, Tim Hicks and more 2014 has been an incredible year. None of this would’ve been possible without your support and for that we thank you.
2014 has been a difficult year for me personally with the loss of my father in-law just a few weeks ago, I’d like to thank all of you who took the time to send your messages of condolence to my family and I. It means the world to us. He was always a huge supporter of Sound Check and his loss will be felt greatly but it will also inspire me to continue to build and grow Sound Check to it’s full potential.
As the year draws to a close we’ve got some huge plans for 2015. In late 2013 I separated a successful blog from the Ottawa Citizen and officially formed the independent Sound Check Blog in order to keep the content free for my readers. It was a big risk but one year, and a couple of months, later it’s clear that the risk was well worth it, our readership continues to grow and the content is read by thousands of music fans across Canada and around the world. As we usher in the new year we are about to begin working with our partners on a new site which will make content easier to find and give the site more of a magazine feel. Although we don’t have an official launch date yet we plan on having it live in time for the 2015 summer festival season.
With many new tours and events already scheduled for 2015 we know it will be busy and exciting and look forward to working with all of you to help promote your events and artists.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
