Meet Angie - Living the Dream's Newest Author

By Livingthedreamrtw @livingdreamrtw
Segovia Although we have had Angie listed on this site for many months now, she has not been an integral part in the operations of Living the Dream.  Other than working in an editorial capacity, she has yet to publish a single post on this website.  After our recent wedding and honeymoon, all that has changed and Angie is officially on-board as a writer for Living the Dream and will be focusing on all things food related while traveling.  Not only will Angie write here, but she will also be taking the lead author status for our slow-moving sister site The International Food Project.
As we believe the best way to understand a blog and its presented destinations is through knowing its author, we want you to know a bit more about Angie and what makes her travel wheels turn.  Needless to say, the following informational contains a lot of talk about cheese, chocolate, and Thai curry.
Where all have you traveled to?
My family was big on nature-focused vacations when I was a kid so I've been to many national parks in the U.S. One place we returned to every year was Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, so that place holds special memories for me. Before I met Jeremy, I kind of lacked a 'travel buddy' and was hesitant to travel on my own. Now that I have his adventuresome self beside me we've traveled together to Canada, the Caribbean, Thailand, Singapore, and Spain!

La BoqueriaWhy did you want to go to Spain for your honeymoon?
The food! Tapas, ham, olives and olive oil, cheap wine. Plus the natural beauty!
What are your favorite foods?
As far as ethnic food, my favorite would have to be Thai (especially curries). In general, I love sweets-dark chocolate, homemade ice cream, pastries.
What are your favorite travel activities?
Anything where I can experience the food- I love checking out local markets, taking cooking classes, and discovering delicious restaurants.
What is your ideal travel style?
I'm not a sit all day at the beach kind of person- I need some action and adventure, with just a little relaxation time every now and then. Ideally, if I had all the money in the world I would eat at the best restaurants and take cooking classes in every country.
Where do you want to visit the most and why?
I would love to visit Norway for its natural beauty and because my heritage is part Norwegian.
Where do you not want to visit and why?
Jeremy is trying to convince me to go to Antarctica, but I hear it's pretty cold there.
What is your favorite travel experience thus far?
Besides Jeremy's proposal in Thailand, we had some really great times in Spain. One of my favorite experiences was at a tapas bar in Barcelona. We barely got a spot at the bar before the place was packed and full of energy. We just ordered glass after glass of Cava (champagne) and pointed to the tapas we wanted that were sitting at the bar. There's something fun about pointing to what looks good and then trying it, especially when you don't speak the same language as the waiter!

We hope that you enjoy Angie's upcoming posts on all things food related while traveling as we make the eating experience an integral feature on this website.  Regardless of the food you like to eat while traveling we know one thing is for sure, Angie will be making you hungry very soon
