Taken during the annual San Francisco Fleet Week airshow rehearsal, Blues #5 performs a high-speed pass just over mast height.  I was happy to get some shockwave photographs of the pass, the largest ones can be seen underneath the aircraft with a small one above the canopy.  First formed in 1946, the Blue Angels have been using the F/A-18 Hornet since 1986.  These are usually the oldest jets in the fleet that have been taken out of frontline combat strike units as newer models are delivered.
