The two blog posts that I wrote about Madeleine MCann actually scared me, I blogged about my own thoughts on a mother who left her children alone sleeping in a foreign country, while we would mostly say she was wrong to do this, this mom has paid the ultimate price for that mistake.

I questioned whether it was time to stop searching, prompted by an article I read in a magazine I had bought and it challenged my views.

Why Did Kate Not Search For Madeleine McCann?

Madeleine McCann; Should They Stop Searching?

What I did not expect and was not prepared for was the blog post to turn into a witch hunt. I watched as the comments grew and yes thought great, this will make the blog look a bit more popular and I never had time to even read the hundred or so comments left.

What I did see was many links, I have no idea where these links went to and I do not have time to sit and read them or look into the legal side of the McCann’s story.

At the end of the day she left her kids alone and at the end of the night she lost her child. While questions will always hang over Kate McCann I will not tolerate trolls and haters on my blog. I had no choice but to close comments on the blog post after a commenter complained another was harassing them.

Harassing them over a blog post? I never saw any harassment and I apologize if I have missed it. I was happy to allow commenters to express their honest opinions but after reading about such hate campaigners it become a little scary.

The tweets then began, warning me that haters of the MCcanns were on my blog, advising that I should ban or remove certain comments or users. I was out of my depth.

I had no idea that McCann hater campaigns were taking place, but I want no part in it. I will not remove the blog posts as I stand by what I wrote, yet have learned that there are some very evil people out there. While I may have my own personal views about this very sad and tragic story, why would anyone go as far as to start a hate campaign against the Mccans?  Spend 5 years of your life writing about, tweeting about and dedicating hours to spread rumours and hate speeches about a couple they have never met?

OK what Kate did was wrong, leaving her kids alone, but I know of hundreds of other mothers who have physically beaten and killed their children. Is she that much of a monster in truth?

The list goes on and on … I have no idea what to believe anymore!

Writing the simple blog posts has opened up a whole new world to me…

The blog is open for “my regular commenters, NOT for anti-hate or campaigners to start posting links”.
