May Favourites

May favourites
It's monthly favourites time yet again. I won't even go on about how fast the month has gone in because that's just a given when it comes to posts like this, but May really has been a jam packed month for me. The month of May saw David turning 22, my last set of exams, finishing university for good, my Dad turning 60 and me trying to figure out what I want to do with my life now that university is over. In terms of beauty favourites this month, there really aren't many because I'll be honest and say that I spent a lot of the month with no makeup on and lounging around in hoodies & joggy bottoms because of studying and a big period of relaxation afterwards. In saying that, I've definitely stuck quite a few go-to products this month and haven't seen many changes taking place in my makeup bag.
My skin has been looking a lot clearer these days after the massive hormonal and stress related breakouts that plagued me during exam time, which means I've been after something a bit more natural looking on the skin but still heavy enough that scarring and marks could be covered. Enter the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation which I've already raved about (reviewed here) as it gives you great coverage but still looks natural and glowy on the skin without making you look shiny. I'm sure you've all been caught up in the hype surrounding the new Bourjois Cream Blush and for good reason too as I've completely fallen in love with the formula and shades of these little pots. I have the shade Rose Tender (swatched and reviewed here) which is the perfect rosy pink for giving your cheeks a lovely flush of color. I really seem to have been concentrating on my lips this month as exfoliating my lips has become a very regular occurrence, with the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub (reviewed here) being my exfoliant of choice because it leaves my lips in such good condition and free of any dry patches. And of course it tastes yummy so that's a massive plus! Once my lips are in tip-top condition, it's lipstick time and without a doubt my favorite is MAC Creme Cup. This is a newcomer to my makeup stash but a very welcome one as I think it's the perfect neutral looking pink for everyday wear. My final favorite is one that has already been included in a monthly favourites post and has returned because I just can't seem to get enough of it, and it is Essie Fiji (swatched and reviewed here). Fiji is a beautiful white-toned pink that is perfect no matter what season it is, and is the shade that I found myself reaching for so many times during the month of May. I'd love to know what have been your favorite things this month ♡
