The Fall-Winter Season of fashion and beauty trends begins, and is really inviting for deeper colors and of course purple tones. So enter in the jewel tones, purples, plums, burgundies, mauves et al and what a lovely time to don some more makeup. Today's look is about color alteration by adding low lights to the lids under a highlighting shade. This creates a 3 D look which is sheer perfection. 'Mauve'in Rouge' is a beauty adaptation of Moulin Rouge though it has nothing to do with it. (LOL)
I used my beloved YSL Pure Chromatics palette no.19 to do this look and it couldn't be translated better (color wise) than that.....So lets see how to achieve this look...
YSL Pure Chromatics Eyeshadow Palette no.19
I have used these lovely colors;
- Dark Brown
- Cashmere Brown
- Tea Rose Pink
- Shimmer light pink
Conceal the under eye area to cover any dark circles. Prime the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer to secure the eyeshadows in place. Frame the eye brows to add dimension to the eye and face.
On the entire lid, apply Tarte cosmetics Waterproof eyeshadow in Soft plum. I applied it lightly in order to avoid unwanted opacity.
Apply dark brown shimmer eyeshadow from the YSL Pure Chromatics eyeshadow palette no.19 on the outer corners and drag it into the crease.
Highlight the inner corners and the brow bone with shimmering light pink eyeshadow. It almost translates like a pearly white but has a tinge of pink in it.
Apply Tea Rose pink from the quad on the entire lid. Although it is a dull pink, it translates into a shimmering mauve due to the shadow underneath. This is the advantage of a low lighting matte mauve eyeshadow.
Smoke out the Cashmere brown from the quad on the lower lid to blend all the colors.
Curl the lashes and apply lashings of YSL Volume Mascara Effet Faux Cils in Noir Radical to get dramatic lashes.
And voila!! We have a lovely mauve smokey eye to commence the Fall-Winter 2013. To complete the look, apply a berry toned blush like Guerlain Rose Aux Joues blush in Pink Punk and highlight with a soft touch of highlighting pink like Lancome Midnight Rose highlighter. Complete the look with a wine stain which is so amazing for the season. I prefer my favorite Guerlain Rouge G in Gigolo or the Maybelline 14 Hr Lipstick in Wine (something)...its fabulous.
Soon launches the new Guerlain Fall-Winter 2013 range called Madame Batifole which is fabulous and is on the Beauty Traveller Radar.... Hope you liked this tutorial. Do let me know in the comments.
Till then,
Ciao
