It’s happened, the crossover of extreme proportions. The Doctor is taking on the Terminator, and no one can tell me any different!!
Deadline is reporting that Matt Smith has been cast in a “major role” in the new Terminator reboot, and subsequent films. Smith is stepping into a story that should fit like an old school with all the timey-wimey craziness reportedly going on in this film. Including visiting the original film, an older and bearded T-800, and a John Connor that is older than his mother Sarah. The official release described his character as “a new character with a strong connection to John Connor, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.”
The role is said to be more of an introduction in the first film, with growing into a more important role in the subsequent films to follow. No word on what his role will be, but to be a carry over character throughout multiple films in a Terminator trilogy? Must be pretty damn important.
It’s been a good time for some of the most recent former Who actors, first with Smith’s co-star Karen Gillan grabbing Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy and being plastered everywhere lately, she’s looking to be a breakout character in the film, and now Smith himself in a new high profile film. If people didn’t already know the names Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, they will soon enough.
