Matt Smith Confirmed to Be in the DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special, and Will Be Wearing a Wig

Posted on the 05 September 2013 by Geekasms @geekasms

There had been some speculation and rumors floating around that Matt Smith’s regeneration could have already been filmed, and that we as fans were getting a swerve job by Moffat and company to lead us all to believe Smith’s final appearance would be in the Christmas Special when in reality it would be the 50th Anniversary special.  Those theories and rumors have appeared to be debunked as Matt Smith himself has confirmed that the 2013 Christmas special will being filming on September 8th, and that he would be wearing a wig to ensure his Doctor retains his familiar look.  (Smith has kept his hair short and buzzed since cutting it off for a film)

To go even further, the BBC also has tweeted the following pic of Smith holding the script at the read through, saying:

Hopefully the wig will be convincing, but I have faith in the team behind the Christmas special, as I’m sure they want Smith to go out in glory similar to how Tennant left. I’m personally glad to know his last episode is the Christmas Special, because if he had regenerated at the end of the 50th, I feel that would have been overshadowed by everything else involved with the anniversary special.
