I’m not a person who does contouring on my daily make up routine. You’d actually see me almost bare faced everyday. I guess contouring is best only for photoshoot or night events where there are really strong lights.
But today since I’ve been seeing a lot of make up fans posting pictures of themselves with the contour make up I decided to put up my version using my brand of make up - Mary Kay. FYI I’m not paid to do this but I’m a satisfied buyer so I’m recommending it.
First I’d like to introduce my basic make up tools. My Mary Kay brushes Bought them for only Php 2, 800 that comes with a lovely brush bag.
They can be very handy but since we’re talking about contouring I recommend this compact blush brush. It gives you more control.
Here’s two of my recommended shades of bronzers. Why bronzers? Because it looks natural and that’s what we want to achieve. Use one that’s closer to your shade so it looks natural. If you have a fair skin go for a rosy shade and if you have a medium dark complexion soft browns fit your color. I would also want to remind you to stay away from the sparkly or glittery bronzers, they don’t really look natural.
Follow the pattern but beware of the amount of make up you put on. You can dust of the excess after directly swiping it from the make up.
Cheeks: hairline to half of your eyes is ideal to put on the bronzer and finish with a highligher on the apples of your cheek. Remember not to put too much or it will look like as if you have a bruise.
Nose: Start from the end of the eyebrow down to the tip of the nose. Remember to blend really well and keep it low with the density of the brush. Then finish with a highlighter over the nose.
This summer actually is a very bad time to do a contour most particularly to those who stay out most of the time. Why? Because when you get sweaty your make up will end up “cakey.“
