EW is reporting that John Ridley, Oscar-winning writer and producer of 12 Years a Slave, and executive producer on American Crime, is teaming up with Marvel for a new superhero television project on ABC.
The report states that the deal involves reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property, but it doesn’t appear to be the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff.
No other information is known at this time and all parties appear to be staying tight-lipped. At this point, it’s almost easier to make a list of characters it likely won’t be (Blade, Punisher, Ghost Rider) than to speculate on who it could be.
