Marktplatz in Halle [Sky Watch Friday]

There are many interesting towns in the former DDR including Halle, situated in Sachsen-Anhalt along the river Saale. It was one of the major cities of East Germany until the reunification. This image was originally on a 2x2 color slide, which was recently scanned and digitalized. It was taken in the Marktplatz [market place], and it includes the figure of Roland [left], the Marktkirche [center] and the Roter Turm [right].  I was fortunate to have a fine sky to shoot against.
