Making Sure You Are Ready for the EMC Backup Recovery Systems and Architecture Certification Exam

The 90 minute EMC E20-005 Backup Recovery Systems and Architecture exam is an associate level EMC exam designed for professionals interested in the Technology Architect, Implementation Engineer, and Storage Administrator EMC Proven Professional Backup and Recovery Specialty tracks. In order to pass the exam’s 60 questions, you should have a thorough understanding of the concepts and technology used in backup and recovery environments.

In order to pass the EMC E20-005 exam, you can use the exam preparation services provided by TestsLive or the ILT course provided by EMC. Additionally, EMC offers seven different eLearning course and one video course to help you review the major concepts found on the exam. Practice tests are also available from EMC.

If you wish to do well on the test, you will need to understand EMC NetWorker, EMC HomeBASE, and EMC Data Domain. Additionally, you’ll need to understand how to use EMC Data Protection Advisor, EMC Avamar, and VMware.

Throughout the exam, your knowledge of backup theory will be tested. To do well on this portion of the exam, you’ll need to be able to understand backup concepts and terminology, and you’ll need to have a basic understanding of generic backup architecture.

You’ll also be tested on your knowledge of information storage concepts. This portion of the EMC exam will include questions on disks and intelligent storage systems, RAID, SAN, NAS, Continuous Data Protection, and the storage system features used in backup and recovery. Additional portions of the exam will test your understanding of backup client, backup storage node, and backup and recovery planning.
